NIGERIA AT 62: AT OUR WATERLOO?

Image
O GOD OF CREATION, DIRECT OUR NOBLE CAUSE, GUIDE OUR LEADERS RIGHT, HELP OUT YOUTH THE TRUTH TO KNOW, IN LOVE AND HONESTY TO GROW, AND LIVE IN JUST AND TRUTH, GREAT LOFTY HEIGHTS ATTAIN, TO BUILD A NATION, WHERE PEACE AND JUSTICE REIGN, AMEN.  It's heartbreaking to see how old warning songs are still relevant today, not just in Nigeria, but throughout Africa. Songs such as ' Africa why? ' by The Destiny Kids , ' Nigeria go better ' by Shaheed Osupa , and this ' Ta lo le gba wa bi Jesu o ba gba wa' song are examples. Songs performed by Ebenezer Obey, King Sunny Ade, Lucky Dube, Bob Marley, and others. Artists that many young people today are unfamiliar with, but who, when their songs play, begin to confirm the truth of the music's content. What a pity!  I'm not against us listening to old, antique songs. NO WAY! What I'm referring to is how songs about the so-called bad Nigeria of that time are still very relevant today. This isn't supposed ...

PDP : A BETTER ALTERNATIVE OR THE SAME FRUIT FROM THE POLITICAL TREE

Image
"No competition, No progress" - Bela Karolyi  Competition whether harmless or harmful is present in every sphere of life so no exception can be made to the political life of Nigerian whereby the competition for the seat of power becomes more intense as the elections draw nearer.  But, it is important to note that this competition is not usually amongst the over 96 political parties present in the country but is most time between two major ones i.e PDP and APC.  Next year's political race was also expected to be the same until, PETER OBI (aka OBI-DIENT) decided to withdraw from PDP and cross-carpet or deflect to LABOUR PARTY (LP), that is why politics is an unpredictable game. So, next year's power race is between PDP, APC AND LP.  But our main focus for today and subsequent posts is on one of these prospective competitors and that is PDP.  Like I did for APC in my previous posts, I would also talk about the history of the party and som...

APC'S PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANTS: THE JUDAS WHO BETRAYED HIS MESSIAH AND THE ICONIC POWER MAN

Image
"Battle of the wits, the law of evolution says only the strongest will survive"- The tussle for the flag bearer of APC goes tougher by the day as new aspirants begin to announce their desire to also contest for this position.     The level at which a lot of people announced their desire to contest during the APC primaries for the presidential candidate post was so alarming as people began to wonder how easy it was for these people to pull out 100million naira just to purchase a single form.  But, this shock was meant to be short-lived because as quick as these aspirants were to announce their desires to contest, they were also quick enough to announce their withdrawal from this race. For more information on the above visit : https://dailypost.ng/2022/06/08/apc-presidential-primary-all-aspirants-who-stepped-down-for-tinubu-full-list/?amp=1 One important thing to note is that, as these various candidates stepped down, there was a particular na...

END SARS MASSACRE: A TERMINATOR OF LIVES.

Hi guys ✌. Welcome back to another segment of the #END SARS MASSACRE series .  As it is known to everyone there is always two sides to a story. Any of the part could be true depending on the listener.. So as such, we would like to take this massive event from the perspective of the people first. These protesters that abandoned their daily lives to come out and clamour for their rights had their lives brutally and wrongfully taken from them without a genuine cause. The protest or so to say was not a violent one up until the massacre. It had always just been a peace walk to vent out the spleen of the citizens against the government as regards police brutality and the misuse of power by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. So why then was force brought into place? These law abiding citizens were not involved in a revolt against the government. Yes, some protesters in other parts of the country vandalized some governmental property but was it a valid reason to cut short their lives. ...

END SARS MASSACRE: A POLITICAL PROPAGANDA

I will first of all like to start my post by sending my condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the Lekki toll-gate massacre which took place on the 20th of October, 2020. The loss of a loved one is irredeemable and I will like to mourn with you and also pray that may the souls of the departed rest in peace. I believe that the background story of the # END SARS protest is known to us all, so I wouldn't like to bore us with the story.... With this being settled, I will like to delve into the core details of this event that shook the whole world. But a preface of this fateful day is needed...  A beautiful day which is the 20th of October is here, peaceful protesters all over the 36 states of Nigeria are fighting against police brutality.... Every protester with the idea of a peaceful protest walk and then bon voyage to our respective homes, but sadlyπŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯, this wasn't so for as at 6:50pm on this fateful day, the so called defenders of our nation I.e The Nigeri...
