END SARS MASSACRE: A TERMINATOR OF LIVES.

Hi guys ✌. Welcome back to another segment of the #END SARS MASSACRE series

As it is known to everyone there is always two sides to a story. Any of the part could be true depending on the listener.. So as such, we would like to take this massive event from the perspective of the people first.

These protesters that abandoned their daily lives to come out and clamour for their rights had their lives brutally and wrongfully taken from them without a genuine cause.

The protest or so to say was not a violent one up until the massacre. It had always just been a peace walk to vent out the spleen of the citizens against the government as regards police brutality and the misuse of power by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. So why then was force brought into place?

These law abiding citizens were not involved in a revolt against the government. Yes, some protesters in other parts of the country vandalized some governmental property but was it a valid reason to cut short their lives. No..

This means that the government just violated one of the fundamental human rights of the citizens as stated in Section 33, subsection 1 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which states that' Every person has a right to life, and no one shall be deprived intentionally of his life, save in execution of the sentence of a court in respect of a criminal offence of which he was found guilty in Nigeria.'

The protesters, their families and citizens of the country knowing their constitutional rights believe from their own perspective that not only have they been wronged by the police and SARS but the Federal Government has created the worst mistake by trampling on their rights and this is legit true.

But like I said, there is always two sides to  every story.. The side of the citizens and protesters as been looked into today but we cannot just base our judgment on that so we also have to see from the government's perspective for a term in law says ' AUDI ATTEREM PARTEM' which means HEAR BOTH SIDES.

So stay tuned to my next post as we look at this case as I will like to call it from the government's perspective in a segment titled END SARS MASSACRE: A CONSTITUTIONAL LOOPHOLE.
