END SARS MASSACRE: A CONSTITUTIONAL LOOPHOLE

Now to the business of the day, in the last post we looked at the #END SARS MASSACRE incident from the perspective of the citizens in general. But, since there is always two or more sides to a story, today, we will be looking at the incident from the perspective of the government keeping in view with all the political manipulations and tactics that also happen behind the curtains.

Most citizens have come out to air their opinions on their various twitter handles with the hastag #LEKKI TOLL-GATE MASSACRE or #20/10/20 on how the End SARS massacre was a brutal violation of the candid right to life of the victims.

While noting that everyone has rights that are recognized by the constitution of the land and the government, it is not possible to ignore the fact that these rights have limitations and the right to life of individuals is not an exception and Section 33, subsection 2 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeriangives the full details of cases whereby the right to life of individuals can be limited but only one of this limitations directly relates to the #END SARS massacre and that is Section 33, subsection 2c which states that 'A person shall not be regarded as having been deprived of his life in contravention of this section, if he dies as a result of the use to such extent and in such circumstances as are permitted by law, of such force as is reasonably necessary for the purpose of suppresing a riot, insurrection or mutiny. I know what you might all be thinking. Looking at the definition of riot, mutiny and insurrection.They all have something in common and that is violence and viewing the facts on ground, there was no evidence of violence as regards the lekki toll gate protesters. And according to this, we can say the government fulfilled this role to the latter. But still, we need to hear the side of the story from the horse's mouth which is our amiable president Muhammadu Buhari. Here is his say on the #END SARS MASSACRE Asides the presidential speech, other dignitaries like the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, the governor of Lagos state, Sanwo-Olu, his godfather, Tinubu, among other highly placed men have come out to say that they knew nothing of the lekki massacre as according to them, it never happened Yet, we also have the evidence of hidden camera found at the scene. This was supposed to be a breakthrough in the #END SARS MASSACRE, yet after this revelation,the hidden camera issue went down the drain which is shocking as the video shows ex-minister and ex-governor of Lagos state Babatunde Fashola handing over the camera to current governor of Lagos state, Sanwo-Olu whose godfather is Abiola Tinubu. Yet nothing came out of ihas , giving us proff of internal political manipulations that taken place behind the curtain. With that being said, we are left with the question WHO ORDERED THE LEKKI MASSACRE? IS IT TINUBU, PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI OR HIDDEN CABALS BEHIND THE CURTAINS, WHICH WE KNOW NOT ABOUT?
